Receiving Equipment Options
Below we provide the four basic scenarios in which Sky Angel is received. (Only the DISH-brand equipment will receive Sky Angel. There is no requirement to subscribe to DISH Network programming to receive Sky Angel or to purchase a DISH-brand satellite system.)









All you need to receive Sky Angel is the DISH Network-brand satellite receiving equipment. Equipment prices start at $149 and include one 20-inch dish, one receiver, and a remote control.* Only the DISH Network-brand equipment will work to receive Sky Angel. There is no requirement to get DISH Network programming to receive Sky Angel.

If you already have a satellite receiving system and are not using it to receive another satellite service, you may be able to use it to receive Sky Angel. If the receiving system is DISH Network-brand, then you can use the complete system to receive Sky Angel with no more equipment to buy. If the receiving system is DirecTV-brand, you may be able to use the small satellite dish**, however, you will need to purchase the DISH-brand receiver box (average retail price $99).

You can have a professional installer install the DISH equipment or you can do it yourself.

*Additional information: More than one TV can be hooked up to one receiver, but if you want to watch different Sky Angel programs on different TV's at the same time, an extra receiver is needed for each TV; the additional receivers cost around $99 each. There is a $5 monthly charge from DISH Network for each additional receiver activated beyond your primary receiver. Extra receivers can be added at any time. However, you may save money if you purchase them at the time you purchase your complete system and have them installed altogether.

2. Equipment for Receiving Sky Angel With Local TV


All you need to receive Sky Angel is the DISH Network-brand satellite receiving equipment. Equipment prices start at $149 and include one 20-inch dish, one receiver, and a remote control.* Only the DISH Network-brand equipment will work to receive Sky Angel. Local channels will require either another dish or an off-air antenna, at additional cost.

ABOUT GETTING LOCAL CHANNELS ALONG WITH SKY ANGEL
The following three options are available to receive your local TV channels with Sky Angel:

A.) You can receive your local TV channels through a traditional roof or indoor antenna, which connects with the DISH Network receiver inside your dwelling; the DISH Network remote control can be used to easily flip back and forth between Sky Angel and the over-the-air channels.

OR

B.) You can subscribe to a minimum package of cable channels, commonly known as "Limited Basic" or "Lifeline" cable, which includes your local ABC, CBS, NBC and other local channels as well as a few news and entertainment stations for usually just $9 to $15 per month. This way you can get your local news and weather without paying for and supporting a lot of channels you may not want. The DISH Network remote control can be used to easily flip back and forth between Sky Angel and cable.

C.) You can purchase your local TV channels through DISH Network, which is currently offering local channels separately for $5.99 per month without any requirement to purchase an entire package of secular channels; Sky Angel and DISH Network channels merge together into one on-screen program guide (second dish may be required to receive DISH local channels) and the DISH Network remote control can be used to easily flip back and forth between Sky Angel and DISH locals. 3. Equipment for Receiving Sky Angel With Cable

All you need to receive the Sky Angel channels is the DISH Network-brand satellite receiving system. Equipment prices start at $149 and include one 20-inch dish, one receiver, and a remote control.* Only the DISH Network-brand equipment will work to receive Sky Angel.  These can be installed in conjunction with cable service.  Your installation technician will know how to do this.



ABOUT GETTING LOCAL CABLE ALONG WITH SKY ANGEL
The cable service conveniently connects to the DISH Network receiver and you can use just the DISH Network remote control to easily switch back and forth between Sky Angel and your local cable service.

Note: Ask your cable operator about what is often referred to as "Limited Basic" or "Lifeline" cable—it includes your local stations as well as a few news and entertainment stations for usually just $9-$15 a month. That way you can get your local news and weather without paying for and supporting channels you may not want.

4. Equipment for Receiving Sky Angel With Another Satellite Service

If you want to have Sky Angel and you already have the DISH Network satellite service (or want to get it), getting Sky Angel is all the more easier! Sky Angel has a technical agreement with DISH Network, a separate satellite television service carrying “mainstream” channels. Because of this technical agreement, you can receive, at your option, both the Sky Angel channels and DISH Network channels through the same satellite receiving system, when you subscribe to both services and have two dishes instead of just one connected to the same receiver box(es). As a result, all of the Sky Angel channels and DISH Network channels are seamlessly merged together into one convenient on-screen electronic program guide, accessible using the same hand-held remote control.

Sky Angel will also work alongside DirecTV or C-Band satellite services. While the Sky Angel channels cannot be merged with the channels from these other satellite services like they can with DISH Network, Sky Angel will not interfere with these other satellite services, or vice versa.
